Bernard "Bernie" Leroy Jarrett

May 17, 1953 — November 3, 2022

Bernard “Bernie” Leroy Jarrett, 69, of Concord, passed away peacefully on November 3rd, 2022, at Hospice of Union County, after succumbing to his battle with cancer.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 1:00PM, at Back Creek Presbyterian Church in Mt. Ulla, North Carolina.

Bernard was born May 17th, 1953, in Charleston, West Virginia. He was the son of Elizabeth Johnson Scott and the late Kenneth L. Jarrett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Renaye Dishman Jarrett, and brother Ronnie Harless.

For years, Bernard worked as a meat department associate, and later, a customer host, with Walmart in Concord. He thoroughly enjoyed his job, and meeting what he called interesting folks. Just two weeks prior to entering Hospice, Bernard was at work.

Survivors include his sons, Matthew Jarrett and wife Kristen of Marshville, NC, Joseph Jarrett and wife Makaylah of Mount Vernon, OH, and Brian Jarrett of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Beau and Teddy; sisters, Lois Prater and husband Jeff of FL, and Rosalena Pfost and husband Larry of WV; and other friends and family who are thankful he is no longer in pain.
