Benny was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably serving from 1962 to 1965. His love for fishing was a defining trait, and he took every opportunity to wet a line. In quieter moments, he enjoyed staying at home, taking it easy, and cheering for the North Carolina Tarheels during basketball games.
He is survived by his daughter, Ronda Cartrett Holder of Concord, and son, Benny “Ben” Wayne Cartrett and wife Jenny of Concord. Additionally, Benny leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Benny's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As we mourn his passing, let us celebrate the years of service, love, and simple pleasures he shared with his family and community. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire and guide us. He will be dearly missed and remembered with profound affection.
