Barbara Spears

Mrs. Barbara Eyvonne Howell Spears, age 85 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 9, 2024.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 12th from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 13th at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Tallent officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Barbara was born June 20, 1939 in Cabarrus County and was a daughter of the late Jay Bruce Howell and Ruth Lawing Howell. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Shimpock, Phyllis Graham, Juanita Barringer, and Mary Kay Harris, brothers, Bill Howell and JB Howell, and grandson, Chris Myers.

Barbara worked for many years at Cannon Mills and raised her 5 children. She enjoyed fishing (has lots of awards for the biggest fish), crocheting, dancing and just living life to the fullest. She loved the Lord and was a member at Gethsemane Baptist Church.

Barbara loved to spoil her grands, great- grands, and great-great-grands. She was dearly loved by all her family and friends, and they will miss her tremendously.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Priscilla Locklear and husband, Com, Marvin Carroll and wife, Bonnie, Robert Carroll, Mike Carroll and wife, Ann and Lynn Carroll; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Howell, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, and a special friend, Debbie Morton.
