It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” Persuitte, Jr., 77 of Concord, NC. Tony was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. After a prolonged illness, he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Tony was born in Ayer, MA on July 23, 1946. He was the son of the late Anthony John Persuitte, Sr. and D. Rita (DiPietro) Segovia. Tony was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lauren Persuitte, his brother, Joseph Persuitte and his sister, Rachael Radoy.
After graduating Ayer High School in 1964, Tony attended Mt. Wachusett Community College. In 1966, he enlisted in the Massachusetts National Guard where he served until 1971. In 1968, he began his career with IBM until his retirement in 1995.
First and foremost a devoted family man who loved his family fiercely. His favorite days were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren who were the lights of his life. Tony took great pride in his family’s accomplishments.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet Sullivan Persuitte; three children – Lisa (John) Dunning of Charlotte, NC, John (Renee) Persuitte of Troutman, NC, and Scott (Kelly) Persuitte of Concord, NC; and five grandchildren – Matthew and Kate Dunning, Amanda (Anthony) Mossallam and Elizabeth Persuitte and Addi Hurst. He is also survived by his sister, Dee (Ralph) Hornbeck of Boca Raton, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Concord, NC, of which he was an active member. Visitation will begin at 12:00pm followed by mass at 1:00pm. Interment immediately at St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Concord, NC following the mass.
