Anne Garrett Penn Crosland, born August 18th, 1934 in Danville, Virginia to the late Anne Garrett Penn and Richard Toomey Penn, passed away on March 29th, 2019.
Per her request there will be no formal service.
Annie graduated from George Washington High School in Danville, Virginia in 1952, where she was president of the student body. She attended RMWC in Lynchburg, Virginia and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1956 where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, honorary sorority. She later attended Central Piedmont Community College and became a hearing-impaired interpreter where she went on to work in the Cabarrus County School system. Her greatest joys were her husband, David B. Crosland, M.D, her four children, and spending time with her nine beloved grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. David Bailey Crosland, Jr. of Mt Pleasant; children, David Bailey Crosland III and wife, Mary Sue, Lila Crosland Schadler, Anne Garrett Crosland Diaz and husband, Dennis, Miriam Crosland Fullam and late husband, Dr. Mark Timothy Fullam; granddaughters, Mary Morris Schadler, Bailey Anne Schadler, Claire Garrett Crosland, and Adrianna Crosland Fullam; grandsons, Matthew Hudson Schadler and wife, Chasidy, Timothy Garrett Fullam, David Hamilton Drake, Jr. and wife, Kristie, Benjamin Barger Drake, and David Bailey Crosland, IV; three step-grandchildren, Andrew Holtz, Joshua and Seth Diaz; great-granddaughter, Lilian McKenna Schadler, and great-grandsons, Matthew Hudson Schadler, Jr., and David Hamilton Drake III. She is also survived by a sister, Florence Penn Starnes of Mt Pleasant, and a brother, George Rucker Penn and his wife, Dixie Hendricks Penn of Madison, North Carolina, in addition to many more nieces and nephews.
