Mr. Alvin Anderson “Andy” Ussery, Jr., of Summerlake Drive SW, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at NorthEast Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 2 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 at Central United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Carol Carkin. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Parlor.
Andy was born March 11, 1947 in Kansas City, KS to the late Alvin A. Ussery and Betty Mott Ussery. He was also preceded in death by a son Samuel, and brothers David and Bryan. Andy graduated from Forester University in La Jolla, CA and went on to work as a welder for the Boiler Makers Union. He was a self-taught Chinese cook, an artist specializing in pen and ink, and charcoal artwork, and enjoyed small craft boating.
Andy is survived by his wife, Frances “Fran” Mann Ussery, sons, Alvin “Al” Ussery III, and Scott Ussery, both of Missouri; two grandsons and two granddaughters; and brothers, Michael Ussery of Blue Eye, MO, Stephen Ussery of Branson, MO and Mark Ussery of Colorado Springs, CO; and "special ladies", Helen Griffin, Joyce Rea, Rachel Lewis, and Rachel Kacfmark
