Mr. Alvie “Ike” Lee Isenhour of Goldmoor Drive, NE, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at NorthEast Medical Center.
His Celebration of Life will be Sunday Oct. 23 at 2:00 pm, at Epworth United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. C. Wayne Allen. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Ike was born March 24, 1933 in Concord to the late Roy Lee Isenhour and Mae Dabbs Isenhour. He attended Pfeiffer College and later graduated from High Point College. After college, he served in the US Air Force becoming a medical technician. While in the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Carolyn, married her in 1957, and started a family. In 1972, Ike started Ike’s Realty and Construction, Inc. in the basement of their home. He was an active member of Epworth UMC where he loved singing in the choir and was an active member of the United Methodist Men. Over the years he served as Chair of Church Council, Trustees, Lay Leadership Committee, and Finance Committee. Ike was also very active in his community and served as president of several organizations including the Royal Oaks PTA, Royal Oaks Optimists Club, Homebuilders Association of Cabarrus County, Cabarrus County Board of Realtors. He also worked with the local March of Dimes and Habitat for Humanity,
Ike is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jones Isenhour; daughter, Teresa Gray and husband Dennis; sons, Chris Isenhour and wife, Kim; Greg Isenhour, and wife, Beverly; and Jeff Isenhour and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Zach, Morgan, David, Sarah, Daniel, Patrick, Josh, Alyssa, Hannah, and Nathan.
