Janice Lynn Baucom 76, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at her home. She had been in declining health for a few years. She told me two weeks ago “Jeanne, if the Good Lord is through using me, I’m ready to go HOME!” I spoke with her 20 minutes before she passed and the Good Lord took her out of her turmoil and suffering and pain!

Janice a native of Cabarrus County was the daughter of the late John Via Baucom and the late Ethel Amelia Adams Baucom. She had membership at Kerr Street Methodist Church. She loved her family, her friends and her school UNCG and most of all her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her beloved sisters, Jean Baucom Helms (late husband Robert), Amy Baucom Russell and Joe; two loving nieces, Kristin Helms Dyck and Kevin, Angela Helms Lane and Allen; and two beautiful great nieces, Cameron Dyck and Madison Dyck; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; and wonderful neighbors.

In respect for the “Corona-Virus” Protection a private family graveside service will be held.

A very SPECIAL thank you to Janice’s dear friends, Barbara Ford Mesimer, Judy Flowe, and the staff that helped Janice, Billy, Carolyn, Jesus and George, and to her precious four puppies who now have loving homes. A heart felt Special Thanks to Ms. Nancy who for three and a half years took very special care of Janice and her beloved puppies Also thank you to Wilkinson Funeral Home for the wonderful love and support to our family!

Enjoy your “New Pain Free Life” in Heaven dear sister, we WILL ALWAYS love you and carry your Spirit with us!

It is so hard to accept life's turn of events in the passing of my dear, sweet friend of so many years...we left our mark in Paris, Italy, Ireland, Scotland and of course here in the good old USA. My tears refuse to stop as I attempt to realize she has travelled on without me, but I know we shall meet again in that destination most high..hold me a place dearest friend.

Janice lived a few houses away from us. She was a wonderful neighbor and will be missed. She had very special yard artwork and a beautiful home that really added to our neighborhood. Catherine and I offer our condolences to Janice's friends, family, and relatives.

Oh my dearest Janice I am just heart broken I can't believe I won't be talking or texting my sister anymore. What a wonderful big sister you were to me for 72 years. I don't remember the first two years. I often said you were like a second Momma to me. What wonderful childhood memories we shared. Every time we reminisced we laughed. I know once when we went skating Daddy got tied up with a delivery and we were left outside at the Skating Rink. You took my little skating skirt and gave me your long slacks so I would be warm. You were ready to go be with your Lord and Momma and Daddy and my Robert. Rest in Peace dear sister, Jean Baucom Helms, Spartanburg, SC
