Obituary

Mr. Sean Eric Williard, age 48, passed away at 12:27 PM on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Carolina Medical Center Main in Charlotte, surrounded by his wife, mother, siblings, in-laws, pastor and dear friends.

Sean was born March 20, 1971 in New Brunswick, NJ. He was the son of Judith “Jude” Nice Williard of Greensboro and the late Scott Carl Williard.

Sean was a miracle since the day he was born. He was born with Alpha 1 Antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic condition which caused Sean's liver to get sick. Sean received a liver transplant in 1983 and was re-transplanted in 1986 with a new liver and kidney. Sean at the age of 48 is the longest living liver and kidney, multiple transplant receipient. Sean will always be remembered as a God loving, strong, caring, loving, funny, compassionate person. He had so much love in his heart and was so grateful for the life he lived. Of course, he wanted more time here with his loved ones, but God was ready for Sean to join him in Heaven. We will miss you sweet Sean and we will rejoice when we are reunited with you in God's kingdom.

In addition to his loving and caring wife, JoAnn Lisa Williard of Concord, those left to cherish Sean’s memory is his mother, Jude Williard of Greensboro; sister, Shennan Williard of Greensboro; brothers, Jonathan Williard and wife, Gretchen of Charlotte, and Brian Williard and wife, Cathie of Bridgewater, New Jersey; aunt, Michelle Govan of Greensboro; mother-in-law, Marie Montalvo of Manville, NJ; brother-in-law, Michael Ogrodnik and wife, Valentina of Manville, New Jersey, and numerous other loving relatives, including nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will celebrate Sean’s life at a private ceremony in High Point NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate you sending memorial contributions to The Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh, 451 44th Street, Penthouse Fl, Pittsburgh, PA 15201, or The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, 1613 E. Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC 28207, or Donate Life America, 701 E. Byrd Street, 16th Floor, Richmond, VA 23219, as these organizations have touched Sean's life in a special way.

Every day I will miss you, Seanie. You gave all of us so much joy and laughter and how you did that, I'll never know. You fought through and overcame each day of your life. My forever lesson from you is that you never said "why me, God?" What a faithful servant you have been and what a beautiful place you must be experiencing. You will always be in my heart. I love you, sweetie and rest assured, we will take good, loving care of your sweet Jo Jo. Love you so very much, A.M.

May you have comfort in the memories of your loved one. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) The
Bible gives a real hope of being reunited again with your loved one. It promises that
your loved one will soon come back to life in the resurrection to a peaceful paradise
on the earth. (John 5:28, 29)

Sincerely,

S. Ellis
