Mr. Charles “Chuck” King Bibby, 88, passed away Friday, February 08, 2019 at St. Andrews Living Center. He is preceded in death by his only sibling, Lowe H. “Buzz” Bibby III.

Chuck’s memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Lynn Keel. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the Fellowship House.

Born on October 15, 1930 in Washington, D.C. to the late Lowe H. Bibby and Jeannette King Bibby, and a child of a Navy Captain, Chuck’s early life was spent living overseas, including China. He attended St. Paul’s School in Maryland where he developed a lifelong passion for sports, especially football. Following high school, Chuck attended Washington & Lee as a Sigma Chi brother and played lacrosse. After graduating, he realized a long and successful sales career with Dupont and then Reynolds Metals; retiring in 2000. Chuck maintained a parallel career as both a visual and voice actor; appearing in Bull Durham, many episodes of Matlock, and in the visitor’s introduction to The Billy Graham Library. Enjoying the outdoors, he camped with friends throughout the NC mountains, and golfed at every opportunity.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Nancy Culbreath Bibby, his children Charles King Bibby, Jr., Carol Ann Leeman, Hutchinson Calhoun Bibby, and grandsons, Chris and Greg Leeman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 789, Concord, NC 28026-0789.

Chuck was one of our long-time voiceover artists at ProComm Voices. Representing Chuck was always a pleasure because of his warm and congenial nature. He would often call us just to say hello and see how we were doing. And it was fun for my wife and me to learn that Chuck had appeared on one of our all time favorite TV shows, "Matlock". What a very, very special person. We will miss him and think of him often. Are prayers are with his family and loved ones.

I’ve honestly never met a friendlier, gracious, all-around good guy. I booked him for voice sessions for years. He was always accommodating, professional and could be directed to the read the client had requested. He always put others before himself. You couldn’t help but smile when you heard him laugh. He’ll be missed.
