My wife, Patricia, her family, and I send our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to all who have had the privilege to have known Dan and been touched by his kindness and love; especially his children, grandchildren, and siblings. May God grant everyone strength in this difficult time. I feel fortunate to have known Dan. I found him to be inspirational and I greatly admire his approach to life. Dan always had a smile on his face, and an abundance of kind words and a positive attitude. I admire the strength of his convictions. I know that Dan faced mortality with absolutely no fear in his heart. It can be difficult to express thoughts (esp. in the written form) fully and accurately, but I know that his passing will be harder on his family and friends than on Dan himself. I don't mean to sound clichĂ©, but we all know that Dan was prepared and is in a better place. Although I grieve, it's more for Dan's family and friends. I find myself focusing more on his life and the effect he had on others, as well as knowing his eternal spirit is truly in a place of complete joy and happiness. He's where he wants to be. I'll miss our conversations and video chats. Whenever Patricia and I would video chat with my mom Dan always made an effort to pop in and say hello - always with his well known enthusiasm and the kindest words for my wife. I will miss those moments. I'm not sure I shared this feeling enough with Dan, but from a personal, if not exactly selfish, point of view, in addition to everything I've mentioned, one of the things I admired most about Dan and wish I could thank him again for, is how wonderfully he treated my mother; with a deep and immense love and respect. I know she is blessed to have had Dan be such a big part of her life, as I'm sure everyone who has known him has been blessed. Dan was a truly unique man and a beautiful human being. I will remember him always. With love, Christopher W. Baaden and Patricia Carol Aragon Mita de Baaden Arequipa, PerĂș
