Pauline McCormick (Deschesnes)

Pauline was a devoted Daughter, Wife, Mother, and Grandmother who selflessly expressed her love with her thoughtful words and actions. She faced her battle with cancer with a strong faith in God and with courage, offering up her suffering for those she dearly loved. As she showed her loved ones how to live, so she also showed them how to die.

Pauline graduated Waterbury Catholic High School in Waterbury, Ct, in 1958, and earned her Associates degree in business in 1983 from North Country College in Saranac Lake, NY. In between those years she Married Bernard (BJ) McCormick on May 28,1960 moved to Saranac Lake, NY and raised five children Susan (David) Massey of Statesville, NC, Mark McCormick of Concord, NC, Daniel McCormick of Mt. Upon her and BJ’s retirement they traveled the United States and many counties together some of their travels included Ireland, Italy, Russia and Panama. Of all of their travels Rome and taking cruises were her favorites.

Pauline was an active member of Saint James the Greater Catholic Church in Concord, NC. She was active in the RCIA program where she loved to share her Catholic Faith. She was also a volunteer with Mary’s visitors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Roger DeShane.
