Jean-Louis Alban “Al” Sirois, age 86, loving husband, father and grandfather has peacefully returned home to God, and reunited with his beloved son, Dr. John G. Sirois on Saturday, May 13, 2017.
.
He was born in Madawaska, Maine, the son of Joseph and Antonia Sirois.

Mr. Sirois is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Antoinette. He was also the happy and proud father of his surviving children, Joseph A. Sirois (Dianne) of Amherst, NH, Dr. Maria A. Sirois of Pittsfield, MA, daughter-in-law, Sheila of Concord; eight grandchildren; one great grandson.

Mr. Sirois was a 1948 graduate of Gloversville High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in Economics from Siena College, Albany, New York. He also held a Certification Degree in Manufacturing Studies from the General Electric Company.

He was employed as a Production and Fabrication Manager with the Large Steam Turbine Division of the General Electric Company, Schenectady, New York.

Mr. Sirois had a strong faith in a loving God and held a deep and abiding love of family, and his animals.

He proudly served in combat as a Marine during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

He was a natural athlete, excelling in several sports. Golf was his game, often playing with a single digit handicap. When his sons took him to play golf at St. Andrews in Scotland, his bucket list was complete.

He had been a volunteer with the Cabarrus Literacy Council; helping men in prison improve their reading skills.

A memorial service celebrating a good and honorable man’s life will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Charles Donovan officiant.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Cabarrus Pets Society, 207 S. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083 or to Dr. John G. Sirois Scholarship Fund c/o Cannon School, 5801 Poplar Tent Road, Concord, NC 28027.
